Understand gateways and MIDs

Review payment connection environments, health, and setup status.

A gateway is a payment connection. A MID is the merchant account identifier used by a processor. Their available settings and health depend on the connection and environment. Dry Run is provisioned for testing in a new workspace; it is not a live payment connection.

Review your connections

Open Payments → Gateways & MIDs.
Check each connection's name, environment, setup status, and health shown on the page.
Open the connection detail before changing it. Confirm that the selected store and environment match your intended use.
If you need another live connection, use the available setup path or ask support for the processor-specific prerequisites.

Use Dry Run to explore router behavior without charging a shopper. Before a live launch, confirm a working live gateway, the correct merchant account, and a router that uses it. A green preview in Dry Run does not establish live processor readiness.
